A Thousand and One Quixotes. From El Paular to Peralada Castle

From 12 September to 23 November, the Serrería Belga Cultural Space is hosting an exhibition showcasing more than 300 works of significant artistic value, some of them never before seen. Highlights include bibliographic treasures such as first editions from the 17th century onwards, drawn from the Miguel de Cervantes collection of the Peralada Castle Museum in Girona. 

Curated by Susana García, curator and conservator at the Peralada Castle Museum, the exhibition features a Japanese edition of Don Quixote of great artistic value, alongside Salvador Dalí lithographs, a sketch by Josep Maria Sert, and previously unseen drawings by illustrators Isidro and Antonio Carnicero, among other works.

Visitors will be able to view some of the most important editions of Don Quixote de la Mancha held in the museum’s collections.  The property houses one of the world’s foremost Cervantes collections, comprising nearly 5,000 editions, including more than 1,000 copies of Don Quixote.
