The new season of the Great Performers concert series will host a recital by the renowned pianist from Uzbekistan, Behzod Abduraimov, whose performances combine great musical depth with phenomenal technique and immense delicacy. The recital will take place on 14 October in the Symphony Hall at the National Music Auditorium.
Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in 1990, Behzod Abduraimov began playing the piano at the age of five as a student of Tamara Popovich at the Uspensky State Central Lyceum in Tashkent. In 2009, he won the London International Piano Competition with Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3.
The pianist regularly performs with renowned orchestras worldwide, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, San Francisco Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Concertgebouworkest, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna Symphony, NHK Symphony and Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin (RSB). In August 2024, he celebrated the tenth anniversary of his debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, and at the end of 2024, he made two important debuts at Berkeley Walt Disney Concert Hall alongside the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
In the field of chamber music, Behzod has performed at Carnegie Hall, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Tokyo, Seoul Arts Centre and Shanghai Concert Hall. It can be highlighted that he has also participated in prestigious festivals, such as those in Aspen, La Roque Antheron, Lucerne, Ravello, Rheingau, and Verbier, among others.
