The French-Catalonian company, Baro d’evel, one of the today’s leading contemporary circus groups, will be performing an artistic investigation into ceramics as a material and a metaphor on 5, 6 and 7 December in Nave 11 at the Centro Danza Matadero - CDM.
This is the first part of a theatrical and performance triptych created by Barbara Métais Chastanier and Camille Decourtye, which offers a poetic reflection that explores the collective construction of our inner and social worlds through the symbolic use of materials such as ceramics, colour, clay, plastic and waste.
The production turns the act of dreaming into a form of resistance and transformation, in an evocative and sensory landscape in which the intimate is projected as a potential joint future. This is carried out through an interdisciplinary piece that combines physical theatre, performance, circus and visual arts, with a strong sensory and allegorical component.
Baró d'Evel is a company founded in 2001 by Camille Decourtye and Blaï Mateu Trias, who have been working together since 2000. The group has performed its productions in many countries, with more than 600 performances, including Bèsties or Mazút. These productions approach the circus with animals from a harmonious and respectful perspective that goes far beyond the unhealthy view of today.
