Information

Since it was first held in 1933 on Paseo de Recoletos, the Madrid Book Fair hasn't stopped growing and contributing to the cultural mosaic of the city. The 85th edition will once more be held in spring, from 29 May to 14 June 2026.

The increase in the number of requests to participate from booksellers, publishers and distributors made it necessary to look for a new venue, which is why the fair moved to El Retiro Park in 1967. Time has proven that this venue was the right choice and it's now closely associated with the annual book and reading event.

Feria del Libro

After focusing on New York in 2025 and exploring how the city has been portrayed in Spanish-language literature, the 2026 edition of the Madrid Book Fair shifts its tone—but not its energy!

Humour will take centre stage at the 2026 fair, celebrating laughter as a form of refuge, critique, and storytelling, while exploring comedy in all its forms. Because laughing is, after all, another way of thinking.
