The 2026 Madrid Carnival Parade (Saturday 14 February, 1pm to 3pm, from Puente de Toledo to Explanada Negra) will fill the streets with magic, joy, and diversity, offering an exciting journey through various artistic and cultural expressions.
Featuring an eclectic mix of street theatre, circus acts, giant puppets, and fantastical creatures, this year’s parade promises to be a perfect blend of innovative, cutting-edge performances and cherished carnival traditions.
Look out for the School of the Puppet Centre's creative contribution – their giant puppets and masked stilt-walkers are sure to add a touch of fantasy and colour to the proceedings.
You'll also be treated to a colourful showcase of international carnival traditions. Folklore and community groups will bring the spirit of carnivals from Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, Colombia, Uruguay and beyond, with traditional dances, costumes and live music. And don't miss the Bloco do Baliza samba drummers, who'll be keeping the energy high throughout the parade.
