This sculpture, located in Avenida de Felipe II, in the inter-modal space between Calle Narváez and Calle Alcalá, in the Salamanca District, is a tribute to the city of Madrid and its welcoming spirit.
Created by the sculptor from Galicia Manolo Paz, it is made of a stainless steel lattice made up of a series of four interlinked cubes facing upwards to the sky, symbolising the union of all the elements to form a unique sculpture, like each of the inhabitants of the streets of Madrid unite to form the city.
Manolo Paz studied at the Mestre Mateo School of Arts and Crafts in Santiago de Compostela. His extensive career has been complemented with training in many countries, where he has held diverse exhibitions. In Spain, his works in emblematic spaces stand out, such as the Hercules Tower in A Coruña, where the Family of Menhirs sculptural set of 12 pieces stands or the cross for the altar at which Pope Benedict 16th gave the religious service during his visit to Santiago de Compostela in 2010.
