The Apolo Theatre is the city’s musical theatre par excellence. Located in the city centre, in the Plaza de Tirso de Molina, important productions, such as "Les Miserables" or "Chicago" have been performed there. It also offers comedy and dance shows for children. It has been owned by ATG Entertainment since 2020.
Since its beginnings in 1932, this theatre has premiered a wide variety of national and international shows: musicals, dance, theatre, shows for all the family, flamenco, circus, zarzuela, concerts, etc. Important theatre companies have appeared on its stage, such as Dagoll Dagom, Tricicle, La Cubana, Sara Baras or Joaquín Cortés, among many others.
In 2025, the Apolo was renovated by the designer and architect, Lola Rúa, in collaboration with ATG Entertainment Spain, the company that owns the theatre. Its new décor unveiled a fusion between Art Deco splendour, pseudo-Baroque echoes and contemporary theatrical sensitivity.
The new design extends through different areas of the theatre, ranging from several VIP lounges to the bar and transit areas, weaving a visual narrative that reinterprets the original decoration through light, texture, and geometry. Its latticework ceiling stands out as the core element. In other rooms, the intimacy of the theatre is portrayed through muted golds, red-coloured upholstery and wallpapers that celebrate the festive nature of the venue. All of the renovated ceilings evoke a theatrical sky that has been reinvented through the superimposition of layers of different materials.
The hall has capacity for more than 1,100 spectators, with good visibility from all of the seats, and modern technical equipment that enables it to host all types of productions.
