Colegio Alemán

This spectacular complex of classrooms, cafeterias, auditoriums, sports centres and playgrounds is the largest civil engineering project carried out by the German government abroad. It replaces the previous building, located in Calle de Concha Espina, which was a very significant work by the rationalists Alois Giefer and Hermann Mäckler.

The new school, designed by the Grüntuch Ernst studio, evokes in a contemporary way the secluded feeling of Gothic cloisters. The school stands on a 34,000 m2 plot of land located in the district of Montecarmelo.
