Located between Ópera and Calle Mayor, this restaurant is an authentic 'ramen bar' in the style of the traditional Japanese restaurants that serve this popular noodle soup dish. Opened in 2014 by Japanese chef Keigo Onoda, it was the first restaurant in Madrid to offer this traditional Japanese dish.
With a cosy atmosphere and modern Japanese décor, Kagura Ramen offers the possibility of eating at a table or at the bar and choosing from a menu that includes different types of ramen (noodle soup with wheat pasta, soya, boiled pork, bamboo shoots and vegetables), mazesoba (ramen without consommé) and generous menus consisting of a bowl of any type of ramen and a garnish (gyosas or rice, for example), in addition to lunch menus and other Japanese specialities such as sushi, rice, poke bowls and various tapas.
Following on from the success of this first restaurant, which won the award for Best Ramen 2018 at the 1st Beef Gastronomy Awards, the Ramen Kagura chain expanded and now has 10 more restaurants in Madrid: No. 8 Calle San Marcos (Chueca); No. 12 Calle de Jose Antonio Armona (Atocha); No. 49 Calle del General Oraá (Avenida de América); No. 10 Calle Antonio López Aguado (Barrio del Pilar); No. 155 Avenida del Doctor García Tapia (Moratalaz); No. 3 Calle Raimundo Fernández de Villaverde (Cuatro Caminos); No. 42 Calle Viloria de La Rioja (Las Tablas); No. 1 Calle del Marqués de Viana (Tetuán); No. 30 Avenida de Juan Antonio Samaranch (Valdebebas) and in the Islazul Shopping Centre (Carabanchel), as well as in Alcalá de Henares, Alcorcón, Getafe, Boadilla, Rivas, Fuenlabrada, San Sebastián de los Reyes, Torrejón de Ardoz and in the shopping center Intu Xanadu (Arroyomolinos).
