In one of the outdoor stalls in the Mercado de los Mostenses, very close to Gran Vía, this small restaurant serves authentic Korean cuisine made by the chef and founder, Jinwoon Yoon.
Opened in the summer of 2024, Pury (which means roots) aims to bring traditional Korean cuisine to the centre of Madrid, as eaten in its country of origin. The place is simply decorated and has only 9 tables, so booking is usually required.
The short menu features key Korean dishes such as jokbal (pork knuckle cooked with soy) and bossam, a bacon wrap cooked in a mixture of ginger and soy and kimchi.
They have an individual menu and two menus to share between 2 and 4 people.
The beverage list includes Spanish and Korean beer; soju, a Korean spirit; rice wine and several homemade cocktails such as maksa.
