El Paraguas is the restaurant group behind this Italian restaurant, which has a beautiful terrace right in the heart of Madrid's Salamanca district. Located in Calle Velázquez, this restaurant, named after the second King of Rome, is lavishly decorated in a style reminiscent of classical baroque Italy, with frescos painted on the walls, plants and mirrors. In the open kitchen, customers can see the dough being prepared in a traditional artisan way. Diners can sample more refined Italian dishes, such as poached gilt-head bream ('al acqua pazza'), seafood guazzetto with rosemary focaccina, orecchioni di elefante, smoked venison carpaccio with Roman pecorino and marsala, and vitello tonnato with a Zahara tuna sauce and pickles, among many other dishes.
